LanguageKhmer Language Classes

Language classes are on Sunday from 2:30-4:00 pm and average about 40 students each year. They include Khmer language speaking, writing, and customs. Classes range from grade 1 to 3. : Grade 1, beginners, teaches Khmer alphabet, consonance, sounding out word combination and simple vocabulary . This class is, mostly, for young children age 5 and up. Grade 2 is familiar with basic Khmer sound combinations. They learn how to compose simple phrases. Grade 3 is for advanced students who are ready to pursue basic reading, writing, and speaking. Grade 4 is for young adults ready for advanced reading, writing and public speaking therefore includes more vocabulary. At the end of each class, students attend custom and morality session which includes ways of communication such as how to greet each other, elder, monks, when and where.
